Today America reaffirmed its Constitution. Throughout most of history, making war was the province of aristocrats. Conflicts were waged for a variety of reasons, though few of them were legitimate. Land and resources were the primary causes, followed thereafter by religious fervor, honor and dowries (which all pretty much circled back to land and resources).
